Neighbouring Group Participation (NGP) is a substitution reaction that enhances the speed of the reaction. Knowledge of internal nucleophile is the underlying concept for the NGP, which is beautifully described in this video. It is studied under “Rearrangement” chapter and I have classified rearrangement basically in three categories, as per my vision, to get a better grasp on the understanding of the rearrangement chapter.
